HALT Human Trafficking Fund

The HALT Human Trafficking Fund was created in response to the increase in incidences of Human Trafficking in Nebraska. Human Trafficking is the business of stealing freedom for profit, and occurs when a trafficker uses force, fraud, or coercion to contact another person for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex actors or soliciting labor or services against their will. By fostering collaboration among stakeholders, the fund seeks to address the multifaceted challenges associated with Human Trafficking Prevention across the state of Nebraska. The Nebraska Bankers Association, it’s members and other stakeholders, will provide support through the HALT Human Trafficking Fund to combat and curb human trafficking in Nebraska.

Partnership with Nebraska Bankers Association

The Nebraska Bankers Association and community and corporate leaders across the state are uniquely positioned to bring awareness, education and most importantly, action to the fight against Human Trafficking. In collaboration with statewide partners, bankers from across the State of Nebraska seek to assist those working to remove victims from harm and reduce the number of individuals who require victim support services.

Donors

The goal of the fund is to provide support to organizations working to eliminate Human Trafficking in Nebraska. Contributions to the fund are tax deductible, and will focus on education, data, and technology. Funds can be awarded to 501 (c)(3) organizations and local government entities that are engaged in this work. All entities residing in the state of Nebraska are eligible. The Fund Advisory Board will consist of an officer of the Nebraska Bankers Association. The other members will be key stakeholders. There will be an ex-officio board member representing the Nebraska Attorney General’s office.
